For marketing
The MQL argument ends when the lead has one history instead of two.
Funnel One is a GTM platform for running a B2B funnel under one set of rules, from first touch to closed-won. You hand over an MQL. Six weeks later you are in a meeting about lead quality with no way to show what happened to it. That is not a reporting problem — the lead crossed into a different system with different rules, and the trail stopped at the border. There is no border here.
What survives the handoff
The lead you sourced keeps one record, all the way through.
Prospecting stages and pipeline stages are stages of one funnel. When sales picks up a lead you sourced, it does not become a different object in a different system; it changes stage. Same record, same history, same identifier. So “what happened to the leads we sent in March” is a question about one table.
First touch is captured once and never overwritten. Last touch stays current. When somebody fills in a form, the anonymous history stitches to the person — so the campaign that started it is still attached at closed-won, rather than being reconstructed later from a spreadsheet and an argument.
- The handoff is a stage change, not an export. Nothing is created, nothing is mapped, nothing needs to be reconciled afterwards.
- First touch is write-once. It cannot be overwritten by a later visit, which is the usual way attribution quietly becomes wrong.
- A form submission is a real record from the first field. Not a row in a form tool that becomes a lead later, if a sync runs.
Straight answer
It ends the argument about what happened. It doesn’t end the argument about what to do.
One continuous history means both sides are looking at the same facts: this lead arrived from this campaign, entered this stage on this date, was moved by this person for this reason. What it will not do today is hand you a stage-to-stage conversion report on that history — that view is not built yet. You will get the record. You will not yet get the chart.
Where to go next
The method
Four moves, in order — and the first one is the reason the trail does not stop.
One funnel
One stage table, one record, one owner field, first touch to closed-won.
Platform
Forms, booking, routing, enrichment and attribution, all writing to the same record.
For marketing
Follow the lead you sourced, the whole way.
One record, one history, one owner field. The handoff stops being the place your evidence runs out.
